Brieven aan de Zee

(Letters to the Sea)

In 'Brieven aan de zee' kan de bezoeker heel even de zee ontmoeten. De reconstructie van de zee neemt je in deze installatie mee de stad uit en brengt je dichter bij de zee. Na de ontmoeting kun je de zee een brief schrijven met gedachten, geheimen of wensen.

The experience of a place and narrative that is embedded in the ground is always part of my work, whether visible or not. My research is fundamentally derived from the image of the Dutch landscape. All of the components that are included in the experience of a landscape have to be put in balance with the story I want to tell.
To see the land as a scenography in itself stimulates my senses and imagination. Integrating the landscape into scenography is for me the imagery that communicates in the most sincere way.
